Is Your Profile Hidden?

Do not make the mistake of accidently hiding your profile. The wrong click of a button, and your profile will be hidden from the world.

To verify that your profile is visible, log into your account. Next, click on "My Control Panel" listed near the top/center of your page. At the bottom, make sure the button says "visible." If it says "hidden" and you want your profile to be visible, then click on the button once, so that it says "visible." This means your profile will be visible for others to see.

Uploading Photos

Having your photo on your profile is probably the most important thing to have. People like pictures. They like to have a face to talk to and not just words.

Please try to upload your photos yourself, but if you have problems, don't give up. Send me the photos you want added and I will add them for you. You can have up to three photos.

Are you a MAC User?

If you are a MAC User, you will have a problem entering in your city and state when creating your profile unless you use the Internet browser program called Mozilla Firefox. It is free, fast and clean. The excellence of the code is the reason why Firefox works, and Safari, Netscape and Internet Explorer do not. Lost your Username and Password?

Click on "member login"

Then, look for this: (it's right under the "login now" button)

click here to get them resent to your email address.

Click on the link and it will ask you to enter your email address. Then, it will send the information directly to your email address.

Is your profile in the search feature

When you do a search, is your profile showing up? If not, you may have missed a step when creating your profile.

Go into "change profile", and right under zip code, there are 3 boxes (seeking single lesbians, seeking couples, seeking family with kids). Make sure you have marked at least one of these boxes. If you do not have a check mark in at least one of these boxes, then your profile will not show up when people do searches.

Let's BLOG!

To post BLOGS, you log into your account, then click on "my blogs." It's the fourth item down in the right side column.

Next, click on "create blog." Type your message in the blank box. Then, this next step is important. If you want everyone to see your blog, you need to click on the down arrow next to the word "private" and select the word "public." Then, click on "update now." That's it. Once your blog is approved, it will be displayed for everyone to view (if you selected "public").

Missing Emails

If you receive an email stating that you have email in your inbox, but it is not there. This means that someone is sending out the same email to many people, and their profile has been deleted. These spammers will usually give out their personal email address for you to contact them. DO NOT give out your personal email address until you feel it is safe. Use the Lavender Womyn Personals site to email people you're not sure about. That's what we are here for, to protect your personal information.

Be SAFE, use CAUTION

The internet is a great place to meet new friends and new relationships. That's how I met my life partner, however, you need to use caution and common sense. Follow your intuition. Plus, here are some good safety tips.

Never give out your personal information until you feel safe. Listen to your gut.

Always meet at a public place...coffee shop, restaurant, etc.

If they stated that they looked at your profile, then check under "Encounters." You should see their member name listed there. If their member name is not listed, then they did not view your profile.

If you are not sure of someone, and it seems like spam, report it to me at: Lavender Womyn.

Spamming

We have a strict spamming policy to protect our members. If you try to solicit, give out your email address, or use certain keywords, you will be flagged as spamming and will be reduced to standard membership. The message you will receive will look like this:

Our system has detected a possible Spam attack through our messaging server. To protect our members from unwanted or unrelated messages we have temporarily suspended your premium account.

We will investigate this issue and hope that we may restore your account to premium status as soon as possible. You may continue to use the system as a standard member in the meantime.

We apologize for the interruption in your service, and should we find that the alert was unwarranted we will of course credit any missed time back to your account.

This means your email was blocked and did not go through. If you were flagged for spamming and would like to be reinstated, contact us at: Lavender Womyn Personals and we will take a look at why you were flagged, and consider reinstating you.

We do this to protect our members from solicitation.
